In this mural is an interpretation of creationism. Inspired by the Iroquois's world on turtle’s back, and various worldly folktales and stories from when I was young.
Description:
Mother Earth gave life to all beings on the first day.
The second day, all lives were sprinkled with knowledge(the orange colors).
All her children lived in harmony by the third day.
On the fourth day, one being in particular became more insatiable and yearned for more knowledge, men’s curiosity grew and they wanted to learn more about the world. They picked flowers to gift to their mother on that day, accidentally tearing life itself.
Forgiven by their mother on the fifth day, men mined the earth and built tall structures to be closer to their mother, whom slowly became more distant over time.
Men built and built, stretching the sky further and further until darkness grew on the sixth day.
On the seventh day, their structure became too tall and heavy, it crumbled on it’s weight. Their collective knowledge became the sun as men felt back down to the ground.
Lost on their path, men grew confused and slowly forgotten what the origin knowledge was. By the end of the eighth day after darkness gloomed. Men made fire. This sparked new ideas and inspired exploration once again. The eighth day became the first day.
Spec:
Each of these signed artwork are 13x19inch full bleed, printed on a velvet matte paper texture. Superb, vibrant, semi-giclée quality and are lightfast. Avoid direct sunlight. Museum glass is recommended for longevity and minimal glare viewing. Otherwise glass, clear acrylic or plastic surface are encouraged to not only protect, but also a lasting means for you and your family to cherish and share these many more stories to come.
